ARC Linkage Project: Generating the evidence and resources to support a successful retirement

This project aims to examine a broader, interconnected portfolio of resources – physical, financial, social, emotional, cognitive, and motivational – that retirees need to adjust and thrive. Professor Prashant Bordia (RSM) is ANU Chief Investigator for this ARC Linkage Project led by the University of Queensland, with UniSuper as linkage partner. The project commenced in 2026.

ARC Discovery Project: Project Governance and Governmentality as Collaborative Challenges

This project aims to investigate governance and governmentality practices in major complex projects, focusing on enhancing social integration and fostering efficiency, inclusion, and sustainability. Ofer Zwikael (RSM) is ANU Chief Investigator for this ARC Discovery Project led by the University of Sydney. The project commenced in 2026.

ARC Discovery Project: Demystifying employee disclosure of retirement plans at work

This project aims to improve and streamline the retirement transition process by investigating employees’ disclosure of retirement plans (DRP) at work. Lead Chief Investigator for this ANU-led ARC Discovery Project is Professor Prashant Bordia (RSM). The project commenced in 2025.

Understanding Consumer (Un)Willingness for Home Electrification: Psychological Barriers and Solutions

This project aims to advance understanding of consumer (un)willingness to adopt home electrification in ACT by investigating key psychological barriers and identifying strategies to promote positive attitudes toward electrification. Project funding is provided by the ActewAGL Endowment Fund, and ANU researchers are Dr Kimin Eom (RSM), Zoe Leviston and Sarah Boddington (CoSM) and Xiaolin Wang (CSS). The project commenced in 2025.

ARC Discovery Project: Building worker & technology partnerships that maximise human-AI creativity

This project aims to offer new knowledge about how workers can best partner with artificial intelligence (AI) to solve problems creatively. Professor Giles Hirst (RSM) is lead Chief Investigator for this ANU-led ARC Discovery Project. The project commenced in 2025.

Researching the performative nature and impact of organisational purpose within organisational settings

The aim of this project, funded by the Commonwealth Department of Education, is to better understand the causal linkages between Organisational Purpose and Organisational Performance. Investigators are Associate Professor Patrick L'Espoir Decosta  and Richard Cawsey (RSM). The project commenced in 2024.

At the Crossroads of Tradition and Innovation: Survival and Revival of the Church of England

The project is led at ANU by Dr Eun Young Song (RSM), in collaboration with Prof. Innan Sasaki (Warwick Business School) and Mr Rob Harrison (Diocese of Coventry). It is supported through in-kind contributions from the Diocese of Coventry and Warwick Business School. The project commenced in 2024 and is scheduled to run until the end of 2029.

The influence of carbon neutrality policies in the global supply chain: Positive spillover or carbon leakage?

This research collaboration between ANU and Hong Kong Polytechnic University, will examine how carbon-neutral policies of foreign customers influence the environmental performance of suppliers in emerging markets and what the moderating roles are of customers’ characteristics. Researchers are Professor Lin Cui (RSM) and Professor Di Fan (Hong Kong Polytechnic University). The project commenced in 2023.

Creative sparks: Supporting and developing people for human-AI co-creativity

This research collaboration between ANU and the University of Cambridge  will involve a series of experiments examining the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in organizations. The key aim will be to simulate creative problem-solving conditions participants and AI experience working together. ANU researchers are Professor Giles Hirst, Dr Priya Muthukannan  and Associate Professor Alex Richardson (RSM). The project commenced in 2023.

ARC Discovery Project: Korean Migration to Australia

This project aims to investigate Korean migration to Australia from 1924 to 2024 by utilising undiscovered historical government data and advancing an innovative theory and methodologies for migration studies. Honorary Associate Professor Jay Song (RSM) is lead Chief Investigator for this ANU-led ARC Discovery Project. The project commenced in 2022.

ANU Indonesia Project (Phase V)

Associate Professor Pierre Van Der Eng (RSM) joins a large network of researchers from across ANU on this project to support the establishment of critical policy infrastructure for the Indonesian Government by developing strong research and analytical skills in cohorts of Indonesian economic and social policy experts. The project is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and commenced in 2022.

This project aims to track the trajectories of older workers’ psychological contracts that shape their give-and-take with the organisation. Lead Chief Investigator for this ANU-led ARC Discovery Project is  Professor Prashant Bordia (RSM). The project commenced in 2020.

Project Investment Benefit Realisation to Enhance Force Effectiveness

This collaborative research project between the ANU and the Commonwealth Department of Defence, Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG), will work towards developing Force Design capabilities in analytical methods and tools that can support DCAP and a portfolio level analysis of the Defence Integrated Investment Program (IIP). ANU researchers are Professor Ofer Zwikael (RSM) and Professor Giles Hirst (RSM). The project commenced in 2019.
